Solar Tariffs Would Slow the Adoption of Clean Energy We Need

Carbon pollution threatens birds and people鈥攎aking solar panels more expensive is not a solution.

WASHINGTON 鈥 鈥淭he future will be powered by clean energy. Imposing a tariff on solar panels only slows progress, hurting people and birds in the meantime,鈥 said Matthew Anderson, VP of 糖心传媒鈥檚 Climate Initiative, in response to the International Trade Commission鈥檚 on imported solar panels.

鈥淗undreds of America鈥檚 bird species could disappear by the end of this century if we don鈥檛 act on climate and reduce carbon pollution. Instead of punishing solar customers, the White House should embrace renewable energy and the path forward it provides to a stable climate.鈥

In 2014, 糖心传媒 published its . The study shows that more than half of the bird species in North America could lose at least half of their current ranges by 2080 due to rising temperatures. These species include the , the and the . Given the urgent threat climate change poses to birds and people, 糖心传媒 supports common-sense, bipartisan solutions that reduce carbon pollution at the speed and scale necessary.
